Homage to a Moroccan Bride

This tribal piece is evocative of all the wedding jewelry from throughout Morocco. The Berbers, Amazigh and Jewish brides all wore similar regalia. And they wear it to this day! Necklaces like this one would be one of several draped around the bride an on her head! Ther might be as many as seven enameled eggs on one necklace. Stands of huge carved resin 'amber' and bits of coral are often blended in. This homage fetures a huge egg (mid-late 1900's) resin 'amber', coral, glass and charms, all evocative of the desert drama. The two silver metal egss have yet to be enameled and show how they appear before being bejewelled. Frame inclluded.
