Fire in the Wilderness

Trek the Himalayas wearing the Nepalese tinderbox probably constructed in the later 1800's. The front has decorative metal cutouts with an unidentified coral coloredpiece hanging from rope. The front lift so the traveler could store tinder within. The back has a rough strike pad for flint. The necklace is made of Sherpa Coral, a glass substitute for the real thing and named for the sherps who could not affor coral (late 1800's). An assortment of coins, charms and more glass from India and Afghanistan completes the piece. Frame included.
