Collection: Brigitte Chertok

Brigitte discovered her passion for the Raku firing technique during an intensive week-long workshop in France.  his ancient process allows artists to experiment with the four natural elements, creating an ongoing quest for that perfect, yet elusive result. She observes the glaze as it melts within the kiln and intuitively know the precise moment to halt the firing process. When the glaze has matured, it emits a beautiful orange glow. The distinctive Raku finish brings her animal sculptures to vibrant life. While the unpredictable nature of Raku can be thrilling, it can equally lead to disappointment—yet this uncertainty is integral to embracing the beauty of imperfection.
